Claude Account Suspended? Appeals, API Prices and Provider Choices
·6 min read
A suspended Claude account can interrupt work you still need to finish. Appeal if you want the original account back. If you are looking for API access for Claude Code or your own application, the tables below show what it costs. The model you choose and the provider you buy from both make a substantial difference to the bill.
The account-recovery route is in Anthropic's official appeal guidance. Buying API access will not restore your account, subscription or chat history. Check each provider's terms to confirm whether it can serve you.
Choose the Claude model before comparing providers
Here is what Opus, Sonnet and Haiku cost. The SubRouter column shows individual merchant offers; another merchant may charge a different rate for the same model.
| Model | Official input / output, USD | Official CNY reference | SubRouter selected route, CNY |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claude Opus 5.5claude-opus-5-5 | $4 / $20 | ¥29 / ¥145 | SubRouter · #15180 ¥0.441 / ¥2.205 |
| Claude Sonnet 5.5claude-sonnet-5-5 | $2 / $10 | ¥14.5 / ¥72.5 | SubRouter · #17184 ¥0.37 / ¥1.85 |
| Claude Haiku 5.5claude-haiku-5-5 | $0.1 / $0.5 | ¥0.725 / ¥3.625 | SubRouter · #19932 ¥0.48 / ¥2.4 |
Checked October 22, 2026. All rates are per million tokens, not monthly subscriptions. Official USD rates are converted at CNY 7.25 for comparison; merchant CNY rates are kept as quoted. Check current prices and service terms before buying. We have not independently tested these routes for reliability.
Haiku 5.5's official starting rate covers prompts up to 100,000 tokens. Above that threshold, input and output cost $0.50/$2.50. Ask each merchant how it charges for longer inputs.
The Sonnet route we found costs less than the Haiku route. The official rate card has them the other way around, with Haiku much cheaper. It is worth checking the models you could use rather than assuming their price order stays the same across providers.
Four ways to buy the same Opus 5.5 model
Now keep the model at claude-opus-5-5 and change only the provider. Suppose you send 50 requests, each with 20,000 input and 4,000 output tokens. That adds up to one million input and 200,000 output tokens:
| Route | Input / 1M | Output / 1M | Listed context | Same token basket |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Anthropic · standardDirect provider billing | ¥29 | ¥145 | 1M | ¥58.00 |
| SubRouter · #15180Selected low-cost merchant route | ¥0.441 | ¥2.205 | Unspecified | ¥0.88 |
| SubRouter · #14537Merchant lists a 1M context window | ¥0.84 | ¥4.2 | 1M | ¥1.68 |
| OpenRouterAggregator, not a direct Anthropic account | ¥29 | ¥145 | 1M | ¥58.00 |
Arithmetic from the quoted rates, not a paid benchmark. Excludes caching, retries, minimum charges and funding fees.
For a short question or a small code edit, the CNY 0.88 route is worth a small trial. For a long codebase, ask about its context limit: that merchant leaves it unspecified, while the CNY 1.68 route lists 1M. Try your own project on either route before committing more money; an unspecified limit is not a confirmed feature.
If your company already has a direct account and a working billing process, there may be little reason to change it. OpenRouter's token rates match the official rates here. Consider whether managing several models in one place is useful to you, and check its funding fees. Other offers are listed on the current Opus 5.5 provider comparison.
For Claude Code, check caching and the interface
Across a long coding session, project instructions and tool definitions get used repeatedly. Alongside the ordinary input rate, check what the first cache write costs and what later cache reads cost.
| Route | Cache reads | 5-minute cache writes |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic standard | ¥1.45 | ¥36.25 |
| SubRouter #15180 | ¥0.02205 | ¥0.55125 |
| SubRouter #14537 | ¥0.042 | ¥1.05 |
The right-hand column applies when you write the cache; the left-hand column applies when a later request hits it. Check the actual cache-read usage in your logs rather than pricing every input token as a hit.
For Claude Code, ask whether the provider supports Anthropic Messages, streaming and tool calls. Then give it a small issue in your project: edit the code, run the tests and work through a failure. Try longer jobs after that works. See the official gateway requirements for setup and our coding connection guide for routing and tool-call problems.
Make the purchase decision with your own task
If you have not picked a model, start by trying Sonnet and Haiku on document work or small code edits. If Opus already does the job well, keep it fixed while comparing providers. Send the same task through each route, check whether the result is usable and reconcile the actual charges. Increase your balance after a small trial.

Anthropic · SubRouter API · OpenRouter. Official prices use standard synchronous API rates, excluding Batch, Fast and regional modifiers. Selected merchant offers use the exact model and ordinary token billing; tiered expressions and per-call offers are excluded. Input and output are never combined across merchants. SubRouter's public feed normalizes amounts to USD; original CNY quotes are recovered with its 6.8 source conversion, not multiplied again by the site's 7.25 display reference.
Merchant references: Opus #15180 (fxpayback), Opus #14537 (LingAI), Sonnet #17184 (a6aa), Haiku #19932 (XCGX). Names identify price sources, not quality endorsements. Basket cost is input volume times input rate plus output volume times output rate, excluding tools, retries, minimum charges, funding fees, tax and initial cache writes. ComputeUnion compares prices; it does not supply model APIs or restore Claude accounts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does buying API access restore a suspended Claude account?
No. Use Anthropic's official appeal process for the original account. API access is a separate service; it does not restore a subscription or conversation history and is not a guarantee against suspension.
Is the lowest Claude input rate enough to pick a provider?
No. Match the exact model, then compare output, cache, context, interface and billing terms. The October 22, 2026 rates here are public quotes, not independent reliability measurements.
Does listing Claude guarantee Claude Code compatibility?
No. Verify the required Anthropic Messages endpoint, streaming events, tool use and model ID with a small real project before committing a larger budget.
